107th Newcastle under Lyme Cub Pack
There
are loads of great things to do as a Cub Scout including camping,
exploring, playing, sports activities, cooking, collecting and computing.
The Cubs also get to go on trips - last year they went to the Cadburys
Factory in Birmingham and this year they are off to Eureka in Halifax.
The Cub Scouts is one of the younger sections of the Scouting
Movement for children aged 8 - 10½ years old. We all meet on
a Wednesday evening during term time from 6.30pm until 8.00pm. There
is no waiting list and all that we ask is that the children are
8 years old before they start. Subscriptions are £20.00 per term
and this covers the cost of the rent for the hall and garage, all
their badges and neckerchiefs and any other materials required for
their badge work.
There
are two leaders at present - Jill, who is also the Assistant District
Commissioner for Cub
Scouts for Newcastle-under-Lyme and John, who is the Scout Leader
from another Troop. They are helped by several young leaders and
leaders from other packs and troops.
Once the Cub Scout is enrolled into the Pack, they can take part
in all the activities including the camping. The Cubs are out on
camp at least 5 times a year, sleeping both indoors and out in tents.
The Cub Scouts also do a lot of badges including cooks, navigator,
explorer, camper, collector, fitness, artist and scientist. The
Cub Scouts also take part in a lot of activities at District level
including the District Camps, St Georges Day Parade, Swimming Gala,
5-a-Side Football, Sports Day and Competition Camps.
For further information about the Cub Pack please contact Jill
or John or 719450, or bring your child along to Cubs on a Wednesday
evening.
