Can you help fund Phase 2 of the Youth Outreach Worker project ?

Recognising the value of the work of the Youth Outreach Worker at the Church in the Westlands it has been decided to try and extend this post for a further three years from 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2011. A flyer has been prepared giving details of the work and the estimated cost of Phase 2, together with an opportunity to respond to our appeal for funding:

Phase 2 was launched on Sunday 7 October 2007 and there has been a tremendous response since. We have been greatly encouraged and we want to share that with you, so updates on the overall level of the response will be posted in the notices and on the website on a regular basis.

Progress at 16 January 2008:

• There have now been 52 responses and the congregation and friends have committed £41,897
• Confirmation of the award of £3,000 from Staffordshire County Council's Local Member Initiative Scheme means that external funding of £8,000 has now been secured
• A further £23,641 has been applied for and £3,812 is being carried forward from Phase 1
• If we secure all the external funding then there is £5,214 still to be found
  

Progress at 16 July 2008

• Phase 2 of the Project has now been awarded £9,000 from the Diocesan Growth Fund and £250 has been donated by Lichfield Cathedral, bringing the total of external funding secured to £17,250. 
• There have now been 54 responses and the congregation and friends have committed £44,639 including £574 from the recent YOWaid 
• A further £6,000 of External Funding is currently being sought and £3,812 is being carried forward from Phase 1
• If we secure all the external funding then there is £8,881 still to be found
