Postal Scam... Christmas is coming; and so are the con-men. The Trading Standards Office warns you: if a card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) to say they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911, DON’T!!! It’s a premium rate number, and by the time you begin to hear a recorded message your call will already have cost you £15. If you receive a card with these details, please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072 396655, or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk at once.

HOST is a well-established charity looking for invitations from volunteers willing to welcome an international student at a UK university for a short stay in their home over Christmas or New Year (or any weekend). An excellent opportunity to spread goodwill on earth! See www.hostuk.org or call 0207 254 3039.
