107th Newcastle under Lyme Cub Pack
There are loads of great things to do as a Cub Scout including camping, exploring, playing, sports activities, cooking, collecting and computing. The Cubs also get to go on trips - last year they went to the Cadburys Factory in Birmingham and this year they are off to Eureka in Halifax.
The Cub Scouts is one of the younger sections of the Scouting Movement for children aged 8 - 10½ years old. We all meet on a Wednesday evening during term time from 6.30pm until 8.00pm. There is no waiting list and all that we ask is that the children are 8 years old before they start. Subscriptions cover the cost of the rent for the hall and garage, all their badges and neckerchiefs and any other materials required for their badge work.
Once the Cub Scout is enrolled into the Pack, they can take part in all the activities including the camping. The Cubs are out on camp at least 5 times a year, sleeping both indoors and out in tents. The Cub Scouts also do a lot of badges including cooks, navigator, explorer, camper, collector, fitness, artist and scientist. The Cub Scouts also take part in a lot of activities at District level including the District Camps, St Georges Day Parade, Swimming Gala, 5-a-Side Football, Sports Day and Competition Camps.
